Title: Twilight
Author: Stephenie Meyer
Summary:Twilight is the story of Isabella Swan, a 17 year old girl who moves to Forks, Washington to live with her divorced father, Charlie. Moving to Forks is a big sacrifice for Isabella, who has spent many a miserable summer in Forks, the rainiest, gloomiest place on Earth. Isabella makes this sacrifice in order to allow her mother to spend time on the road with her new husband, Phil, a minor league baseball player.

Upon Bella's arrival in Forks she finds herself highly sought after by several boys in her class. Bella has no interest in any of the boys until she lays eyes on Edward Cullen, a gorgeous and pale classmate. Bella is mesmerized by Edward's beauty and his overwhelming magnetism. Bella discovers that Edward and his four adopted siblings are quite mysterious and do not associate with their classmates.

Having been adopted by a young doctor and his wife, the Cullens live on the outskirts of town and keep to themselves. Bella is surprised by Edward's hostility toward her, which borders on hatred. When Edward miraculously saves Bella's life by using superhuman strength, Bella begins to realize that Edward is not quite human. After a local Indian boy tells Bella that his tribe believes the Cullens to be vampires, Bella starts to believe that Edward is indeed a vampire.

When Edward confirms that he is indeed a vampire, Bella finds herself falling in love with a young man who is constantly waging war against his baser instincts. Although Edward professes his love to Bella he warns her that his presence in her life serves as a constant threat to her life. As Bella and Edward fight to be together they must face a brutal vampire who is hell bent on taking Bella's life.

Review: I really, really liked this book. It's definitely in the young adult genre though, meaning that it's not exactly a complex story and there are certain themes through the book that are sort of cliche...but otherwise it's really enjoyable. It's also a pretty quick read and since there are two sequels currently and another coming out in August, plus a movie in November it's definitely something that you could get hooked on.

Rating: 4/5 stars

I loved this book too. It's not exactly complex or anything, but it is really sweet how in love they are and I love the characters lotsssss <3 I really want to read the last one.

Did you know she's actually writing another novel (or part of one..) told from the point of view of Edward? It's -awesome-, but it's definitely a companion to the original books rather than one on it's own (the first chapter is up on her website) ^_^

Anna- I'm wicked excited for the new book too. It'll be interesting to see how she ends the series....

Yeah! Midnight Sun right? I read that chapter a little bit ago, I liked it. I think I would enjoy reading from Edwards POV instead of Bella's. She kind of annoys me.

I don't know what it's called lol I just read the chapter...

I love Edward's POV, he actually -thinks- about things. =) Bella is sort of cute but gets annoying.

Ooh, lol. Thats okie.

Yeah! That's what I think too. Bella is just so cutesy and she's wicked complainy sometimes.

ok, sounds like it's a cool story, but it sounds familiar... there are lots of stories with that plot I think, but that doesn't necessarily detract from her version.

Yeah...I don't think the plot is the best point.

I love the characters, and the writing style is cute especially the way the author includes all the little things like visits and eating lunch together... It is essentially a romance, which means the plot isn't going to be that awesome, but it is a very sweet romance where you end up loving the characters (even if you find some of their personality traits annoying).

Or, that was my take on it anyway..

guys looks at porn, and girls read romance novels.

lol.

At this lame seminar thing I had to listen to at my confirmation retreat on sunday the lady was talking about Catholocisim and Sex and how they fit together or whatever. And she kept talking about how guys were situlated by images and that's why there are a lot of advertisements for guy things with pictures of sketchy girls. (In short guys are kinda pervy. hehe)

And she kept comparing guys to microwaves and girls to crockpots. (Can you make the connection?? Hehe)

My view of Catholicism and sex and how they fit together is basically...they don't =/

At least, not if you're overly zealous with your Catholicism. >_<
